GRASS AND GRAZING

Welcome to the third instalment in our mini series about profitable regenerative farming that we’re hosting as we warm up for our Regenerative Agriculture Masterclass.

In today’s video I want to share a little bit about our approach to grassland ecology and how we use the various species of animals here in timely interaction through holistic planned grazing to radically transform what was once the worst pasture in the village.

Holistically managed grazing is a key part of regenerative agriculture in my mind, which is defined in the simplest terms as carbon storing agriculture; capturing carbon from the atmosphere and putting it back in the soil to drive the soil food web in the way nature intended.

To give you a concrete idea of what a grazing enterprise can look like in numbers, today we’re gifting you a fillable Pastured Beef enterprise spreadsheet from our Regenerative Agriculture Masterclass. You’ll find a link to it here on this page.

There’s still one more gift coming, and you can also still get a free ticket for our live online event “Stories from the Pioneers”, where you’ll join Richard and a number of other farmers (who are also our Masterclass mentors this summer) for an evening of conversation and Q&A’s. To register, just fill in the form on this page – seats are limited.

Up next: In the next video we’ll be having a look at perhaps the most popular enterprise of all, market gardening, and in our case specifically no-dig market gardening which combines the best of ecological thinking with the best of market garden planning in what I consider to be the very best way to grow vegetables for market.

THE REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE MASTERCLASS

The intention of the Regenerative Agriculture Masterclass is to give you everything you need to be able to start successfully, from a detailed land plan to a bill of quantities detailing everything you want to in the development of your farm, a phase plan of how you’re going about that, your sales and marketing strategy, financial plans for each enterprise you plan to take on and then a whole-farm economic plan which is an overwhelming task, and that’s why we’re here to help.

As far as online trainings in this field go, the Regenerative Agriculture Masterclass is by far the most comprehensive, in-depth and detailed sharing you’ll find anywhere.

If you found this mini series inspiring and would like to start your own profitable regenerative farming business, you should consider joining us.

Registration is now open, but only for a few days (and only once or twice a year), so be sure to check it out now. To find out more, just click on the link below; I hope to see you in the training.

All the best,

Richard
